Description:

TechKote WA 2951FE is a low-gloss, durable, water-based rust preventive coating, for spray application to sheet metal, hot rolled steel, castings, forgings and extruded metal. It is a complete water-based coating designed to protect metal substrates even when applied at low film builds. The coating is fast drying and can be air-dried or force-dried and does not need high-temperature bake cycles. WA2951 FE does not contribute significantly to VOC emissions, nor does it contain any heavy metals.

Health & Safety

TechKote WA 2951 FE  is available at our Brighton, Michigan facility in 55-gallon drums, 330 gallon totes and 5 gallon pails.

Storage And Handling:  See Safety Data Sheet Before Use.  Do Not Freeze.  Use at room temperature.  Store at temperatures between 45°- 90°F.  Do not expose to extreme high temperature due to container rupture.  Do not pressurize drum or reuse empty container. Follow all safety regulations on label.

Mix / application & Use

Mix completely before use. This product is typically is applied at a minimum film thickness of 2.5 mils (unless otherwise directed by the customer) using HVLP, Conventional, Airless, Airless / Air Assisted or Electrostatic spray methods. This is an air dry coating and will be dry to touch in 10-20 minutes (depending on environmental conditions). The product may be oven dried as long as part temperature does not exceed 180 degrees F. Allow seven days for full cure.
